| Abstract: |
Blumenthal manual small-incision cataract surgery (SICS) is an established procedure for cataract surgery, especially in the developing world. This video shows Blumenthal manual SICS in a difficult situation: hypermature Morgagni cataract. Blumenthal manual SICS was done without a single use of viscoelastics. The difficulty faced, mainly in performing a large capsulorrhexis in the absence of cortical support, is demonstrated in the video. The video also demonstrates the use of sheet glide as an alternative to prolapse the nucleus. The details of the technique will be presented in the video. < |
